When the EU tightened its contamination control rules in 2023, pharmaceutical manufacturers across Europe found themselves reassessing the decontamination strategies they had relied on for years. TOMI Environmental Solutions noticed. So did Total Clean Air.

Announced in March 2026, the two companies have formalised a partnership that appoints Total Clean Air as TOMI's Preferred European Partner for its SteraMist iHP technology. The agreement covers the full UK and EU market, giving TOMI locally rooted service infrastructure where European clients need it most: on the ground and audit-ready.

End-to-end customer responsibility sits with Total Clean Air. From initial demonstrations at its Somerset showroom through to calibration, maintenance, and validation support, the company handles the full service lifecycle. Consignment stock held on UK soil means deployment can move fast across the region.

GMP Annex 1 compliance is the engine driving the deal. Tightening enforcement from the MHRA and EMA has pushed procurement teams toward validated, locally supported solutions, and the transatlantic service models that once satisfied European buyers are losing ground. Post-Annex 1 audit scrutiny has turned in-region technical presence from a commercial preference into a regulatory necessity.

Analysts forecast 14% annual growth in the UK sterility testing segment through 2035, placing it among the sector's fastest-expanding markets. Competition is real, though. Fixed vaporised hydrogen peroxide systems hold a strong installed base inside many major facilities, and cautious buyers typically want site-specific validation data before they switch. Gradual adoption, not rapid displacement, is the more realistic near-term picture.

Still, with a demonstration facility open in Somerset and stock positioned across the UK and EU, Total Clean Air is ready for a customer base that has stopped waiting for the rules to settle.
