BIOGRAPHY

Frank Smedt is the founder of DyFrNd, providing consulting services to the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. He brings over 17 years of expertise in analytical laboratory testing under ISO 17025/GxP accreditation, with a focus on extractables and leachables (E&L), chemical characterisation studies, method development and validation, and monograph testing on polymeric materials for pharmaceutical use.

Frank was previously the operational director of an analytical laboratory serving the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. He is a member of MedPharmplastEurope (MPPE), an active conference speaker on compendial and E&L testing, and a university lecturer.
